I tried that. Even left one on it for a week and it didn't change at all. It was just a Battery Tender Jr though so maybe a bigger unit would be different? I just assumed that it was taking as much juice as it could hold. The light shows full charge.

Not sure, but I think the idea of having to charge your battery all the time sounds like something I get sick of doing. Might try your idea with better battery, might look at the cost of a bigger starter too, I reckon the two together would fix the problem. Really wanted to spend the money on a HID headlight....and a brake upgrade....I swore to stop spending money on it for the rest of the year haha

Murs, I had the same **** with my bike cutting off and speedo coming back on. Turned out to be bad connection of battery terminals. They were arching so bad they nearly welded on to the battery.

Rode out to see the AMA hill climbs at Poag's Hole in Dansville, NY. It was a great time. Lots of bikes and we had a blast. That hill is very deceiving from where we were watching. Up close, its 10x steeper than it looks. The safety guys catching the crashed bikes and riders at the top of the hill can't even see them coming until they crest the edge so with every bike that makes it, the guys are scrambling to get out of the way.

These are two women racing, I say "he" at the end, my mistake but she plows over a guy at the top who ran the wrong way from the bike that crosses and goes right toward the group waiting at the top.

This is one of the nitro bikes. He makes a clean run but gets sideways at the top and gets tossed off into the trees. He was alright but the bike got pretty beat up.

Yeah I haven't spent any money on the train since I put the battery in over a year ago I think. I bought the Big Crank battery last. I think that I will try one of the Batteries Plus ones this time. I'm just not ready to pay over $200 for a Shorai. I bought a 75 FLH Shovelhead a couple of months ago and have been putting all of my time and money into it. The last of the parts should be in this week so I should be tearing it down in the coming weeks. During that time I will be back on the Train so we'll see how it goes.

Cool videos Cyg. "He died" Haha!

I'm thinking a better starter motor may help the batteries to last a little longer. When it first try's to kick and there's that pause, there must be an enormous load on the battery. This is where a lot of the battery would be drained. I'd say a bigger starter would eliminate the pause. Obviously a bigger starter would drain the battery a little more too, but it'd have to be better then the way it is now.
Put some comp releases in you cheapo. I've been running a Spike large starter for 4 years now with Harley batteries and a push button on the starter when it gets the click going. This setup has yet to fail me in any heat no matter how I run it.
On another note I switched to the Dunlop E-3's last fall and have 7500 on the rear now and it still looks new.I have yet to have it slide in the rain which I've seen my fair share of this year.Pretty good tire IMO. Which we all know don't mean jack ****.
Pretty cool ride PoPo,my buddie has one that has a gazillion miles on it and never been apart. And Ash, Tx. you guys can have this f'n heat. This **** sux and it's getting hotter everyday this week.
