Yo guys. Its been ages. I got some new Metz for the train and am about to remove my wheels for the first tine on my own. Was gonna grab a 100 craftsmen jack this weekend but then saw the harbor freight high lift jack for $180. Looks nice but harbor freight kind of scares me for some reason. Any thoughts?
Also will be unlacing my spokes and sending them out with the rims to get PCd. The rim and spokes are stock but there is a lil rust on em. Will the sandblasting take care of that? Will it look like **** just PCing my stock wheels black?
Lastly any help on what tools I need to go shopping for to take on all this is appreciated. Spoke wrench etc...
Mark had his wheels pc'd while they were assembled. They turned out nice too. That's an option if you don't want to have to go thru the process to re-true the wheel. Just pull the rotor, pulley, and bearings.
Any of you guys using the Progressive Monotubes in your forks? I'm about to pull my forks to have the lowers powder coated black and want to go ahead and upgrade the suspension while I'm doing it. Thinking about using the lowering kit but I don't know if I want to do 1" or 2" and how it will affect the ride. I ride 2 UP 50% of the time.
I have Monotubes and use the spacers for the 2" drop. It's definitely a stiffer ride but feels a whole lot better than stock and you're not nosediving everytime you brake. Feels fine 2 up.
yeah...as is they are too short for my legs. Really the only thing I dont like about my bike. The guy that owned it before me was considerably shorter than me.
Yep, Murse, look into the Ness extension kit. It just bumps the foot controls out a few inches, everything's included to do it. $200 or less bud. Orrrrr get the plates from Lund and buy your own rear brake line and extended shift rod to make it cheaper. Either way, it's a nice improvement.
