Bummed. I dropped my Train in the driveway this morning, then picked it up while still on the incline, tried to ease it to the bottom (very short and steep drive) and then she fell over on the other side. First time I've dropped a bike.

Broke the brake lever, ruined the HD logo end cap on the grip, scratched the big shot heat shield, scratched up the wrinkle black on the primary. I think that's it.

Blind - don't be too bummed about it. Doesn't sound like the damage is too extensive. At least you got that out of the way and you're good to go without dropping for a while.....

Heard those were nice seats, D! Looks good!

Yeah. I haven't put my new apes on there yet, and I have a couple of styles of grips in the garage. Some black Avons that are glossy on the ends and textured rubber in the middle. And also some Avon coke bottle grips. I may go with the Coke bottles and see how they feel.

As for the primary, that stinks but for now I could touch it up. Someone at work suggested buying some wrinkle black paint and putting it on with a q-tip. Not sure how that would work out. I'm pretty particular about my stuff so I may decide to get my primary re-powder coated. I wonder if it would need sandblasted first or something so it's all even? And then I'd be worried if it would match the factory powder coating.

I just grew to love the Big Shots as well... so I guess I could get the heat shields powder coated, get new heat shields or just go with a different pipe altogether. I've always thought Sik Pipes were cool.

The stock levers shouldn't be too hard to come by. Maybe someone on the forums have an extra they'd get rid of for cheap.

Next year (tax return time) I was planning on powder coating the lower forks and the triple trees anyway. Maybe even having my tins painted black (gloss or denim, that's the question).

Ah... money trap. hahaha

Blind: Your bike was speaking to you.. She didn't like the grips, logo and big shots. Obviously an open belt primary was also requested. Could've been worse, man. It's all good.

Hah! Good way to look at it.

And actually I'd love to go with an open belt primary. I don't know if I'll have the coin to go that way in the next six months, but I'd love to.

Do any of you that have gone that route know what a ballpark cost on parts and install would be? I'd have my indy do it for me, but he's pretty good and doesn't charge an astronomical amount for work.
