I have a dumb question. I'm changing my oil for the first time since I got my bike. When I drained the oil, I only got maybe 1 quart of oil to drain, maybe. I didn't check the oil level prior to draining, so could I have just been that low on oil?

And how much oil does the oil tank hold? 3.5 qts?

Thanks for the help guys

You gotta start the bike and run it a few minutes before draining the oil. If not, the oil might flow past the oil pump and into the bottom of the motor. You can always put the plug back in and fire up the bike for a minute and then drain it. I wouldn't worry about draining the motor. I always just drained the oil bag and pulled the filter. About 3 qts or a bit will refill.

Havnt been on in a while. Figured I'd get a pic on here finally. Mock up pic. Bike stripped down, and all tins back from paint. Start my reassembly tomorrow. Shotgun shock all squared away and lots of new goodies. Hope I can get it up in a week. Supposedly 60 here next week.
