Night Train Pictures
Jim I know what you're saying. In this months cycle source mag there is a bike done by a guy in Hollywood that is all polished. It's cool because it still shows some of the imperfections in the metal but still looks like a million bucks.
I can see how for my bike though it might not flow like its supposed to and it'll end up looking like the tank and fender are out of place. That and never doing it before, I'd hate to ruin it!
JR yeah that look is cool but when you see it, it's done across the whole bike, not just on a few parts so I think I'm just jumping the gun on the idea. I'll have that look in 20 years though !!
Maybe I'll just save up some money and have the tank painted. Leave everything else as is so the tank is the centerpiece of the bike. What's a paint job on a tank average? I know prices vary but just a ballpark?

Do you know if the two that I linked to will even fit?
I found this for some specs listed for the 2003 NT:
Tire - Front: 80/90-21
Tire - Rear: 150/80-16
And whenever I do a search for those sizes, the vintage looking tires that I like (Avon MKII and Shinko 240 or 270S) don't show up.
The Avon front shows up as 3.00S-21 and the Shinko rear is 5.00S-16.
Would those fit on the standard 2003 Night Train?
ALSO, are tubes the only additional thing I'll need to buy or is there something else?
When I was quoted $550 for the rubber and the install for Dunlops from the dealer, they mentioned tubes and something else that I can't quite remember.
THANK YOU
I too hated the dunlops that came on the bike new they suck in every way. Ran way to many sets of ME880's the last 6 years. I tried the dunlop E-3's this time on the train and they blow the Metzlers away period. I know the feel is subject to personal preference but the E-3 is such a smoother ride and does not slide like the metz in the rain. I'm getting to feel the difference every time I switch bikes.Got new 880's on the Bad Boy and the ride is just not up to par with the Train. We will see on mileage claims from Dunlop but so far at 2800 these still look brand new.JMO boys and with the nickname ******* we know mine might stink ha ha.
Come on BW 13.

Also looking at the Firestones. The sizes are confusing to me though, and I have no idea if this would fit.

Just installed some passing lamps on my Train (Kuryakyn fork mounted with clamps). Install wasn't bad but took forever just to make sure everything was good. They came chrome so I had to paint them black (like everything else). They're bright as hell and would light up the road perfectly even without my headlight. Can't wait to try these at night so I can really see the difference:
I'm running the Exile Cycles internal throttle and love it. I am also using the Grip Ace setup, so not sure how the stock switch wiring would fit with the cable. I can say though, I have 1.25" bars, and the throttle cable, 3/16 brake line, and the 2 small wires for the brake switch fit just fine. You will need to weld the throttle housing in place for a proper job.
BlackBetty: From what I've read here and everywhere else, the Exile is the way to go.
Disco: That bikes ready for battle, looking tough as nails!
Blind Rocket: Man, I love the way those vintage tires look! What have you got planned? Wish I could help you on your choice, but I have no idea how the tires you're looking at will fit. *FWIW: I have 90/90-21 on front and 150/70-18 on back. Venoms.

Yeah Jim I can see how big of a decision it is. Hell I changed my mind already in the last few days on what to do. It'll prob be different tomorrow haha. I do have an idea for a paint job, just the tank though. I know it's gonna be expensive so it'll be a project for next winter. I'll wanna get a lot of research done on painters and have a good talk with one to get it right. You have any recommendations for painters?
