Hey guys, I've been wanting a Night Train for a long time, and found one that may work for me. Here are some details, and is there anything I need to look out for on the 2003 models?

What to look out for in a 2003 Night Train
Found one with 14,8XX miles for a good price. Carburetor, not EFI.
Needs rear brake pads and will need tires soonish.
8 hours away, but willing to meet half way.
Comes with a rear lowering kit, not installed. And has a hypercharger or whatever for the intake that I would want to sell.
He says it has never been down and has been garage kept, he's not the first owner though.
Is there anything I should really look out for? He says it doesn't leak.
I'd need to sell my 2010 Iron first, so I'll get on that.

Thanks

Yes, that's the one. Do you know anything about it that I should be concerned of?

I saw that one on FB also. Seems a good deal if you get it for $7,500 as the last offer

I've asked this in the softail area but didn't get much of a response & figured you guys could help me out...

Did anyone paint their wrinkle blacked pulley? I don't want to pay for powdercoating but worried just painting on top of the cast iron won't look clean and smooth.

I would think powder would be cheaper. Just had mine done for $25.

Welcome Boost - nice Train damn that thing must fcukin haul ***!

BRocket - the "lowering kit" is probably some $16 bolts so don't let that come into play on the price.
Keep in mind IF you are wanting a 200 rear tire then you need to go 06 and up (or spend a fair chunk on a wide tire kit down the road)

Doesn't sound like much has been done to it - sometimes its nice to find something someone else already dumped a bunch of $ into and they cant get it back so you scoop it up.

A friend who is a sales man at hd dealer here told me was find the book value of the bike (stock) If its excellent shape then from there add up any **** thats been done to it and then cut that amount in 1/2 and add it to the book value of the stock bike = what it's "worth" ---- hope that made sense,, I am a few beer deep over here haha

That looks good John. I think I am just gonna spray bomb mine for now.

ps; I imagine I don't have to tell you this (but it doesnt hurt to say it in case someone else that doesn't know is reading this)- do not re use your pulley bolts, they are a one time use.
