oK so took the bike to the city today and Zooks harley confirmed no frame or frame horn damage so I brought the bike back and stripped it this afternoon, Tank, bars ,headlight ,front blinkers, front and rear fenders, the coil and the stupud brace that it mounts to behind the back jug is now history forever, the top and bottom belt guards just because I want them gone..............
So decided against the RSD fender cause the RSD seat doesnt fit the tank worth a chit IMO, Going heartland instead..
Quick question for the lowered guys. I dropped 2" front and rear this past winter. I noticed the belt rubs the primary a bit, not bad but it's starting to polish the top of the belt and showing signs of a little wear. It has about a 1/2" clearance on the top when parked, and my preload is jacked up so it's probably only on big bumps that it contacts. Doesn't seem like a major issue, no noise or anything, but is this normal? How do you shotgun guys ride around slammed without destroying the belt? Is there a fix for it?
smaller pulley on front and shorter belt. Can't run as fast down the road tho. Grind out inside of housing above belt. Raise it back up. That about the only 3 I know.....
Thanks TX, just wanted to be sure I didn't **** something up. Don't see the issue mentioned much in any of the lowering threads. I'll be takin a file or dremel to it. My girl rides a buell, so I can't lose too much top end or she'll be leavin me in the dust more than she does already, plus I kinda like fast!
