Default Crossbones Cam Job

Hi guys, I hope I am not derailing this thread here as I wanted to show you guys what a crossbones looks like undergoing a cam job. I upgraded my bike to SE mufflers, stage 1 air cleaner, SE pro race tuner and SE-204 camshafts. Here's some pics that my buddy and dad took while I was doing the cam swap today. Enjoy!

Just took off exhaust and starting on the cam cover.

Hey Snook592, the cam swap took me 2.5 hrs to do it. I installed the pipes and air cleaner earlier in the week since the cams were on order. It only took an hour to swap out the SE mufflers, SE air cleaner and reprogram it. So to do it all was 3.5hrs. I have been doing this stuff for years, so it goes rather quickly for me.

Grats on the new bones gmc4ever, I love how the bike looks with those pipes too!

Default 09 Crossbones

Well, Ive had her awhile now, and I absolutly love it. But it seems no matter what I do , I am having trouble with my back on this thing. Pretty sure Its due to too many years riding rigids. Anyone out there with lower back problems able to sort out thier Xbones to suit I all ears. Ive tried all the seats, lower bars , the whole 9 yards. Heres the latest photos with the Sampsons anyway. Thanks for all the X bones post , I love this site.

Cheers from A Yank down under in New Zealand

im in the same boat with the bad lower back. i put on a set of harley goodies extentions to move the boards outward and arlen ness forward extentions. also, put on a le pera silohoute and it was better, but not perfect. im switching to a V-Twin 1925 sprung seat replica. if that doesnt give enough lower back support im looking at a plain seat from Red Tail Leather. hopefully itll work.

Hey..

I've got a terrible lower back too. I broke it when I was a kid. I've got the 1920 sprung seat with 2" springs, and it still gets sore, but it provides more support than the stock seat, so I much prefer it.

good luck to you!

have you tried moving the floorboards or changing over to pegs? what about a solid seat?

My back bothers me too that is why I have this seat. I can ride forever without a problem. But if it is hurting before riding the seat doesn't make it better. Plus my passengers are always happy too.
