Paint Question
Hi everyone and thanks for sharing all your pics and info on the X-Bones.
This is about the longest thread that I have tried to browse through since I joined H-D Forums and there is a LOT here so sorry if this was addressed already and I missed it but;
What are you all doing to match the denim paint on the tins that you have replaced on your bikes? From what I can tell, most of you who are working with denim black Bones have managed to get really nice results when changing out your tins. I too have a black denim Bones for which I bought a set of fender to replace the stock ones (both front and back) with and I want to get a good match on the denim so that I don't have to paint my tank as well just to insure that everything matches. Are you all using actual H-D color or maybe something after market that happens to work well enough?
Thanks again for all the inspiring ideas! I wish I could take my Bones in the direction that many of you have but alas, my riding habits have led me in a direction that I believe will make me just as happy. Still cool to see all the more bobber style mods you guys are doing. Certainly will give me something to draw on if I ever do revert back to more of that style.

I am putting on a different rear fender from a fatboy and am using a couple of aerosol can from HD to match the black denim. Before I chose this option I called around at a few paint stores to try and get matching paint, a couple were able to and for a 1/2 pint (with reducer, and activator) the cost was about $120 where as the two cans are $40. For me the better option was to go with HD due to the ara I need to paint.
I also did a search on this site for "matching black denim paint" and found some other options of paint to match. The options though don't give you the same wear effect that the black demin is supposed to after time.

I have installed a rear fender on my Denim Black bones and purchased one of of a 2010 Fat boy painted by Harley in Denim black. Perfect match! Sorry, front Heritage Springer fenders are not offered in Denim so it will come primer. Any good paint shop should be able to match up. Ask your dealer who they recondmend.
