New to this post and still working on a picture. In the mean time I've got a question for those that have Samson Longtails on your Deluxe. I just put some on my wifes 08 Deluxe and had the dealership dyno with a racetuner and already I am noticing some light gold color on the muffler from the rear cylinder. Have any of you had this happen?
Mine are doing the same thing (BG3 Chopper Longtails) but only about an inch that is exposed between the rear head and the where the heat shield kicks in. The Shields themselves are holding up beautifully with no bluing. The only dull spot is where some moron used too harsh of a steel wool on some transferred rubber. I know the "moron" real well. I am not sure if I have the right picture here of the problem, but I'll upload one tomorrow if not.

+I had posted this in the softail forum, but I thought that I should put it here in the Deluxe thread for full exposure to others with the tombstone tail light.

Well I was sceptical when I ordered a LED array from Custom Choppers on ebay, as the price was muchlessthan everyone elses price.
Ebay

I had to remove the bulb socket assembly and use the die grinder on the grey plastic base to recess the array, so it was not tight against the lens. Then I drilled a screw hole into the grey plastic base through the hole provided in the array. Through this I used a small #4 screw to mount the array. I then used hot glue to brace the top of the array between the cover mounting towers. As for the wiring it is soldered & shrink tubed. I am very pleased with the instensity & pattern. I know there were others with Springer Classics & Deluxes that were looking into adding a LED array to brighten up the dim tombstone tail. This actually works pretty good for about $50.00.

LuxHD,

That is one of the three emblems my husband is looking at to put on my tank. How long is it? (Need to make sure it will fit in the painted insert.)
They are 8 1/4" long and 4" high at the star. Sorry it took so long.
Thank you. Now he has to go measure the tank insert to seewhich onewill fit.
