RE: Deluxe Pictures
Well, I've lurked here and the V-twin forum for the past few days, and enough is enough...
I purchased an '06 Deluxe (skunk) a year ago as I returned from living overseas. I quickly put a few thousand miles on it and have since been deployed to Iraq. It's sitting in my garage bone stock, and now that I'm back, I'm slowly (but surely) compiling and prioritizing my upgrades list. I'll start posting pics as it becomes more and more "my" bike.
So here I go with the questions:
Von Zipper: You have one bad ride - I'm a huge fan of your bike as well as the one that suspect posted a pic of. Which engine guard did you go with? I really like the flow with your lowered suspension. Also, how did you go about lowering it? I'm not sold on the air-ride yet, but I would like to slam the bike with the knowledge that I put about 80 miles a day (at least) on it, and occasionally ride 2-up. Do you (or anyone) have recommendations on a good lowering kit, and height?
Calin: Your bike is ridiculous! Since you've painted the frame, I'm almost sorry I didn't go with the blue and white. I'd copy you in an instant. If you can't tell, I'm also a huge fan of lowered bikes with beach bars. It's where I'm headed, and I can't wait. Also, that nacelle looks incredible. Once I'm more on the way, I'll certainly do that upgrade.
T-Rat: Which risers did you use with your bars? Is yours the setup that requires you to move your leg when turning at parking lot speeds? It doesn't really matter, I've just spent so much time on the forums over the last couple of days that all the info is running together.
Nikonf8, 07Deluxe & Bluerose: You guys have amazing bikes as well, and I really appreciate having the opportunity to go through this thread and read all about them.
Thanks also to everyone who has contributed here for some great ideas, lessons learned, and sharing your incredible wealth of knowledge.
See you on the road!

I don't have to move my leg unless I'm maneuvering the bike (i.e.) tight turns in backing into a parking space and shifting it around in the shop.
The risers are 1 1/2" custom chrome hidden risers. The bolts go in from the triple tree side. Don't have a part number off hand but I'll look for one this afternoon when I get home from work.
