Heres some pictures of my 07 Deluxe (I'll post some better ones soon). Just finished my 107 GMR Build, Diamond Cut the heads (hard to see in these pics), FatCat exhaust, and 99 Heritage Springer Bags with Bubba Quick Releases.

Default New Nacell on my Deluxe

Just installed a nacelle on my 07 Deluxe, what a pain in the A$$ that was! Finally finished it this morning and got about 150+ miles in today. (Played hooky from work) What a awesome riding day it was in So.Cal.

Chrome forks and bells are next!

Eric,

I've been biting at the bit deciding on weather to try the Nacelle or not because I knew it wouldn't just bolt right on...So now that you have done it (congrats) what were the biggest problems you ran into?? Is the Nacelle you got for the softail??? Thanks, Bill.

The biggest issues were self inflicted, to start with I bought the nacelle off eBay, it’s a Heritage nacelle. I would have been better off buying new. When it arrived it had some slight surface scratches, I ended getting them re-chromed, ended up costing just as much as if I were to pay for them brand new and they aren’t cheap! Got them back from the chromers and they had a defect in the chrome, had to send it back. As far as the actual install, it went pretty smooth, had to get some spacers to make them fit right on the bottom securing bolts under the nacelle, get your own spacers, if you buy the Harley Nacelle install kit you will end up spending 50 bucks for some spacers/ call me cheap. The biggest issue was the passing light install, mounting holes on the passing light bracket on my 07 has a fixed spacer that made it too tight to fit, they had to be ground off, not sure if the earlier models are the same way. My die grinder slipped and marred some of the chrome on the bracket, I guess its no big deal, cant really see too much of my f'up, but I know its still there, just have to get them re-chromed. After all that mess I found that my FLSTN detachable shield wont fit now, the nacelle's to too big! I either have to trim the bottom or use my spare Windvest, good thing I dont ride with the sheild often. I was frustrated with all the detours to get it done, but the end results came out pretty cool.

Quite the story...I guess I'm going to go for it because I love the look of it on your ride...I have the detach windshield also and I want to be able to use it now and then, so I'll probably have a glass company cut it down to fit after the install..Thanks for the info!!!!
