Whose pipes? Those are Wikkid sweet. Hey, consider a tank lift and show that chrome, make the bike and engine look even bigger: mine was 1-3/16" center to center, welded pipe slugs I made on opposing sides of lift plates to offset them, did some bondo and snuck on some black epoxy appliance paint. Look at how the stock lines flatten out when coming up the frame; you can see the difference in a lift; they just continue.
Dang nice scooter there, still.
I still say, yank the tank!

Sorry dood; there was no process aside of welding the thick washers on, bondo, and paint. Oh, and buying some 3/4" x 3/8" stainless bolts, acorn nuts, and washers, polishing and stuff.
My only tricks were the rags lifting the the tank until I liked the lines, and this:
the top washer goes on the outside, just for thicker support for the 3/4" bolts.
The bottom washers go on the inside, to space the plate outward from the original location for the tank tabs. I hope I explained that well enough; wife behind me buggin' me over trivia.
Lemme see if I can show it in type:

Just space the plates outside of the tank tabs, it's just that.
edit: the typing didn't work, but picture a simple 1/8" piece of bar stock, drilled 3/8" holes, centered 1-3/16" apart, quite thick washers, one on one side, the other on the other. K.I.S.S. -
if I had left off the washers, the bar stock would not have spaced outside of the tank tabs, and the upper holes would possibly wallow out if the bolts ever let loose. Gawdamighty, I need
to get the paint finished and take a pic! I can't explain so well.

Just noticed I never added pics here:
2007 Harley Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic 96 bored to 103 stage II screamin' eagle kit, EFI race tuner, Vance and Hines true duals (sounds awesome), 2 tone paint, highway pegs, and engine gaurds when we got it used about maybe a month ago.
with its sister/ my bike 73 XLCH completely customized (the heritage is my dad's)
Since we added headlight and spotlight visors, replaced all the bulbs (headlights with PIAAs and others with regular bulbs but might go to LEDs.), cleaned it up, and adjusted all the linkages, plus moved the highway pegs so that my dad can reach them:
and the first time I rode it we stopped here (I was a passanger as I am still trying to get my motorcycle liscense). It is a church up in Show Low AZ I tried getting the flag and the old old motel sign in the pic to but they were to far for my cameras view.

Here's a couple of pictures of my ride. It's and 07 and had it since early 09. It's got lots of Do-Da's and I dont think I'll ever trade up. When I hit 100K, it will be time for a new 103. I almost can't wait..
On the last two pictures, 3 speaks for it self, and 4 is me crusing down the Galveston sea wall.
