Yeah, after about an hour of scrubbin', I'll bet! Cop friend warned me away from 'em. They do look gangster tho...unless you got white paint, of course...HA!
Well, c'mon guys; is my friend correct? They hard to keep clean or not?
The worst color is of course black. It looks clean only mometarialy, immediately after being washed. Gray/Silver hardly ever looks dirty, even when caked in the stuff. White can get pretty dirty before it really shows. Nasty yellow bug guts do show up though. On a Heritage your windshield catches most of the bugs and road grime so the bike can stay clean looking for a nice long time.
I think "hard to clean" is relative to everyone and can be different for each and every rider. I keep my bike spotless, at all times, so to me it is not hard keeping them clean. I usually do my WW's at least once between cleanings and I just put my 3, 2 by 8's under my bike let the shotgun shock down so I can spin the wheel as I clean it. It takes me maybe 15 minutes. Before I had the Shotgun I used my Harbor freight jack and did the same, 15 maybe 20 minutes. The looks and compliments I get far outweigh what it takes to keep them clean. WWW's SCREAM nostalgia and IMHO you can't go wrong with them on these style's of bikes.
