No it ain't.
Lean angles WAAAY to shy, front ends mushy as wet bisquits, handlebars too low for long rides, and other things that needed improvement, including the infamous TC disease: soft cam chain tensioner pads. Yours may have been the year they went to hydraulics though.

After 4 years I just removed my engine guard. I feel naked! :-)
I also ordered Kuryakyn flip blades, liked the look and position.

I want to get rid of my engine guard. It came with the bike. I can't get myself to take it of because it is very functional. I'll get a black one later.....maybe
