Yeah, it's one of those "love it or hate it" things. The paint was actually professionally done. Its a satin black called "hot rod black". I like it because it really makes the chrome pop...no other distractions....and overall I was going for the more subtle approach.
As much as I know folks love denim, to me, that one looks like someone rattle-canned it in their garage. I don't know why, because obviously it's a good paint job,
but somehow it just comes off (to me) like primer. What I think would look killer would be glossed panels over that, fitting the lines of the bike.
I think I said this before...but I'd just throw on tank badges and possibly the front fender badges and it might balance it out a bit more.
Heritage is timeless. I just love this bike and am glad it was my first and only Harley! I hope to buy a Street Glide sometime, but my heart is always with the Heritage. I love riding this classic machine. Its what you think of when you think Harley's thru the 50's and to the present.

I used to ride an 84 Ironhead XLH back in the 80's. Loved that bike, but when the Heritage came out in 86 I wanted one. Waited a long time and finally got my gently used '09. Sure was worth the wait!
