Here's a few pics. She's starting to get where I want her to be. Still need to figure out what I'm going to do with the front signals. Planning some more things for the winter, bars maybe.

Yes, I have to remove the seat to get the bags off. I haven't tied them down to the saddlebag supports or anything. Haven't had any problems with that.

To remove them, you have to remove the seat? And what keeps them from flopping?

Hello Nova,

Looks like you have lowered the back end. how much did you lower it by and do you experience any bottoming. Do you ride 2up at all?

Yea I lowered it using the Burnout cycles kit purchased at JP Cycles. Install was real easy. The ride is a little stiffer and I have dragged my exhaust once but no bottoming, even two up. Kinda figured I would drag the exhaust sooner or later anyway, it hangs kinda low to begin with. I didn't really measure but I think it is about 1.5 inches lower. The kit is easily adjustable so if you had any probs you could dial it back up a little.

Nice looking bike. That's what I'd like to eventually do to my 2006 fxsti. How much trouble was it to put the fatboy wheel on? What spacers did you have to use? How did you attach the fatboy fender? I know I'm asking you alot of questions, but I'd was hoping for an idea of what I might be in for if I try to do it.

Thanks for the info.

Thanx

I could lie and tell you it was easy but to be honest it was done by the dealership so I couldn't tell you how hard it was!!

Richmac64 the fenders should bolt right on the only issue you would have is the hieght of the fender over the 16" wheel as the fxst front end is made for the taller 21"er. If you look at a fxst with the 16" wheel up front you can bolt the heritage/fatboy front fender on but it rides high. So what most guys do is cut the mounting tabs on the fender then drill into the side of the fender to bring it down to make it look like it was made to be there. To get that perfect hieght you would tape 2 hoses side by side on the tire, rest the fender on that then mark your mounting hose by putting the marker through the fork tube mounting holes. Hope this helps.

Can't help with the wheel thing yet cause I'm still looking for a wheel but I have done the fender thing more than once.
