Softail Standard Pictures

Hi there,
Brand new to the Foum and have to say... tons of great stuff here, can't wait to start spending some quality time here.
This is a "new to me" '02 Softail Standard that I have just bought.
I am picking it up on Friday and CAN'T WAIT!
Although I love the look the way it is, wife says we need a seat...
Does anyone have a fender set up like this and use a pad????
Will it fit... is it safe with the tire so close????
How about who makes this rear fender kit... I am sure it's not true custom, but the guy I'm buying from knows nothing about the bike at all... he's just selling for someone.
What would you guys do to it if it was yours?

garjowan,
looks like a heartland biker 180 kit, i have installed the 250 kits before, it may have slots in the fender braces designed for a removable rear seat, but they are very expensive. $800-900 range. the phantom pad will work fine on that fender, i pile gear and me and the wife up on my bike and my fender and tire are alot closer. looks like you have some room to lower it even.

Here's my 99 FXST Softail not-so-standard after a somewhat budgeted first-winter build (bought it last July). It's a good start but still long way to go. Been riding for over a month since finished just couldnt stop long enough to snap any pics til now lol:
-Ported/polished heads, shaved .070" (about 10:1 with .030 Cometic head gasket), Racing 3-angle valve grind
-Andrews EV-51 cam
-Andrews chromoly adjustable pushrods
-Vance & Hines straight shots
-S.E. A/C kit
-S.E. plug wires
-Modded C/V carb (DynoJet kit)
-Soon to get a Crane Hi-4 Single fire ignition, oil cooler and S&S Super E or Mikuni HSR-42. That'll do for this year I think.
Not gonna list all the visible mods cuz you can see for yourself lol
Cheers
