Clutter free and now with what a designer would call negative space

Hey man u got any pics of where u mounted the coil? Did you have to extend the wiring or just re-route it?

I made a bracket to locate the coil to the right hand tab on the swing arm that the splash guard bolts to. I don't know how clear it is from the pictures but you are looking at the swing arm from the back of the bike with the rear wheel and splash guard removed. The pipe that you see running down the right of the coil is the drain from the oil tank.

From a different angle the pipe you see in the foreground is the end of the vent line from the fuel tank.

The coil is mounted upside down in comparison with the stock location, so if I remember right the bottom post is for the rear cylinder and the top post for the front.

Space is tight but it does fit. Obviously the pictures are from when I was test fitting it, the splash guard bolts back on to hide my ugly bracket. The bottom nut holding the coil does deform the splash guard but hey its only a lump of plastic!

For the wiring there are four wires that go to the coil - three go off to the ECM and one goes separately towards the front of the bike. The three to the ECM are long enough, but I had to splice about 8" into the separate yellow and green wire that heads to the front of the bike. Electrics is not my strong point, so I have no idea what all the wires are for, but hopefully this is sufficient explanation. The wire I have circled in red is the extended wire, the ones circled in green are the stock length chaps.

Some really nice rides in here!! Here's a pic of mine. Slammed 2" front and rear. Lowering bolts in rear, Ness custom dampers in front. I call her my HARD Softail.
