I put those on and I love them, it's the way I like to ride. I have 6" straight risers and the 30" drag bar. Very similar to the night train set up. You mentioned the shine, I'm thinking of taking the sand paper to it and re-painting it, maybe a satin black (DENIM) and putting the anniversary emblems back on.

The price of looking and feeling cooler than stock?

Get an air ride and be done with it!
Chaz, have you tried adjusting the preload?

I didnt realize my stockers even had preload. I bought the bike from a fellow member back in Dec. It was already slammed in the rear and the front was stock...By Gawd it handled like crap! I got the front lowered and that helped and then had my Indy raise the **** end up about 1/4 inch. So its better than before handling wise yet still wants to spit me off if I slam a big pothole or something.....

So my stockers have preload? I will have to see whats up as Air ride is a long ways off!

After lowering, mine road like a hardtail, which is about what it was. I adjusted for max pre-load, (stock shocks) and what a huge difference. Bought the spanner wrench at HD for like $8. It's a pos, but got the job done.

My weekend mods, thanks to the snowstorm: Swapped the x-pipes for the Troublemakers, took some chrome covers off (clutch release cover and cam cover). I also got rid of some other chrome, like the swingarm covers and ac cover. Relocated front turn sigs.

This week, I plan to remove the chrome primary cover for the satin one, and eventually go with an open primary. Front lowering kit will be here Monday. Also plan to figure out a better solution for my ac cover, as well as new bars/risers, and figure out what I want to do about wheels (tired of spokes).

around the stud that goes into the shock there are a bunch of holes, that where you adjust the preload at. But you have to go to your local dealer and get the wrench. I believe there only like 10. bucks or somethhing. Just follow your service manual and if you dont have a manual pick one up while your at the dealer.
