FS: ThunderMax w/AutoTune #309-360
Hey Gang,
I decided to give Thundermax a try and it's not really for me. I don't like having to lug a computer out to the garage to mess with it or having to run data collection just to get an answer from T-Max support via email. Also, I thought replacing my ECM would mean less clutter under the seat than a piggy back tuner like V&H FuelPak. However, with the addition of the rear O2 plug and use of the diagnostic plug as well, I didn't really save the space under the seat cover that I thought I would. All this coupled with the fact that I am getting ready to try a Shadetree rear fender and don't want to relocate this expensive unit behind the oil tank means I'm probably going to go with a flash tuner such as the Powervisions (nothing to install and leave on the bike)!
As such my Thundermax is up for sale. It is the older version kit #309-360. It works on Softails years 2001-2010 as well as Touring models years 2002-2007 with CABLE THROTTLE (no throttle by wire models). This unit uses a serial cable to connect to a PC whereas the newer ones use a USB cable. I will include a Serial to USB adapter that lets you connect it to newer PC's and laptops that don't come with a serial port. Both O2 sensors and software CD are also included although I recommend that you go to the zippers site to get the latest version of their software and the latest drivers for the USB adapter as the ones on the CD are definitely out of date. I recently updated the firmware on the T-Max so that should be good to go but it wouldn't hurt to check for updates on that too just in case.
Everything works fine and I am only moving it for the reasons stated above.
The unit is currently on my ride and will come off this weekend so Monday 8/18 will be the soonest I can have it ready to ship.
The ThunderMax unit retails for $899 and the adapters run anywhere from $12-25.
I want $485 for the everything including shipping to the lower 48. PayPal work best.

Yes and yes.
My bike has been torn down for modding so I haven't been using it since the work began. Was planning to run it once I finished my bike if no one took it off my hands. Works perfect. Just thinking of switching for the reasons stated above.
