Does the backrest have some kind of indentation? The pictures seem to show something, maybe material bunching or some pressed against it during storage. Also, what is the lowest you will take for it?

No indentation, just a wrinkle. $375 shipped is a steal. New is $459 + shipping.
I'll give a Mustang testament to help if possible. I put the Mustang sport touring version of the wide touring seat with back rest. 15" instead of 17". Very comfortable seat and instead of sitting "on" like the stock seat, sit in the bike. At least that's my impression. Stock seat was one of the first things to go so can't say definitely if it move fore or aft but if it does it's minimal. Backrest great for aging backs, younger ones will appreciate it too.
