Default screamin eagle 103 heads

I have a set of new screamin eagle 103 heads. the part numbers 16965-03 and 16971-03. i picked these up for a 103 build i was going to do but decided to go a different route. these are the round chamber heads also known sometimes as the "hemi" heads. they are set up for manual compression releases. they are brand new, and have never been installed. they are complete with valves, ready to bolt up. asking $800 or best offer. email me for pictures at bazzhed@comcast.net

added a few snapshots...email me for more pictures

thanks

What models/years will these fit? I have a new SE catalog but I can't find them. If they will work on my '11 FB Lo I may be interested.

i have it from one of the better local mechanics and tuners, that these heads are too big for stock 88 and 96 motors. the combustion chamber on these heads is so big that it will lower the compression ratio of a stock motor. unless you've already done a 103 upgrade, these heads will not work for you.

the heads are no longer available from harley they are not in the screamin eagle book...but they cost a little over $1000 new when they were available.

bump to top....625 plus shipping. c'mon fellas...someone wants to go big with a 103

Am I correct in assuming that a big bore kit 103" (pistons and jugs) and these heads will work? or is a cam upgrade needed as well?

i guess it depends on what cams you already have in the bike. if you did a big bore kit, i assume you already did bigger cams such as 255s. it is my understanding that bigger than stock 96 cams will be needed to run these heads...but i will check with my guy on thursday. i work at a local hd dealer part time and i will talk to the service rep/dyno guy on thursday.

thanks

I been googleing around your part numbers. The best I can tell is that these are 2005 CVO heads. If installed on an 88 comp ratio is 9.3.1 if installed on a 96 comp ratio is 10.5.1. cant find anything about installing on a 103 and what the comp ratio would be. also found that these can't be used with SE pistons. Looking to do a 103 build using a 103 stage II kit. most folks use their 96 heads when doing this....Im interesting in using your heads. what combo works with your heads . currently have a 2007 ulta with a 96 motor. thanks for any info. a pdf like the below link would be perfect...this particular pdf does not match your part numbers so wondering what pdf does. want to make sure they will work.

i tried to get info on these heads myself.. i know they were available in 2008... my local hd has a set for sale brand new in the box (on the clearance table),, same exact ones new in the box,,, i asked to get more info on them they said they cant call hd and find out,, "its not that easy" i was told....

they share the same part number with the new mcv or mcr heads,, one or the other,, these end with a -03 ,, the new ends with a -08

these heads look like they will need to be refinished,, there is alot of scratches there from somebody using a gasket scraper or razor blade to clean of the gasket that was there... big no no with aluminum...

after doing some more research..i believe you are correct. these heads seem to be stock 2005 cvo heads. i can say that they have not been ported or machined in any way.

thanks for the bump...pm your way.
