EFM Automatic clutch 2007 softail
****SOLD*****
Had EFM build this clutch for my 2007 softail after breaking my left arm and shattering my wrist. I had it built with kevlar plates, which are optional, since I am running a 103". This unit handled the power perfectly, and is really a well designed part.
I have regained my ability to use the hand clutch, and have removed the entire assembly after approx 1000 miles. The plates still look perfect. It takes longer to remove the primary cover than it does to install the clutch. I will include the instructions (easy) and a couple of extra plates that came with the unit.
The original hub was used. I know it is part number 37554-06A. I do not know what other years and models this fits. Great for those who are not comfortable with the clutch, or wanting to use jockey shift. Stop and start without the clutch, then use the clutch for gears in motion. Stop in any gear hands free.
$675 shipped lower 48 states. Lists over $1000 with the kevlar plates.

It works on centrifugal force. As the rpm increase the clutch engages and the plates grab smoothly. I have it set to pull at about 1200 or so rpm. As soon as you release the throttle, and the rpms drop the clutch will disengage and you can stop, in any gear, without touching the clutch. You can shift into neutral from any gear at idle without using the clutch at all.
Once you are moving you use the clutch perch to change gears in motion, as your rpms are high enough that the clutch would not release on its own. Once you get the hang of it, you can change gears very smoothly without using the perch, if you want to.
It helped a lot with my injuries, and I gave it a lot of thought before I took it back off, cause it works so easily. Hope this explains it a bit better.

EFM clutch
Nick-o I have a EFM Clutch in my trike that I want to change to a standard clutch. Do you know what all I would I need? Does the clutch housing need to be replaced? From what I know, which is very little is the springs & pressure plate kit is all I need? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Bill

I would ask which primary you used, wet or dry? If it is the OEM wet set up the clutch hub was sent to EFM and modified...and it is a one way trip. You will need to replace the hub and plates....which is not what you wanted to hear I am sure. There is no harm in calling the mfg, he is a one man deal and he may be able to remachine the hub and return it to stock.
Hope this helps some.
