200mm set up for Softails 2000 SOLD
SOLD!!
I have been getting all the parts to convert my 06 Fatboy to a 200mm wheel and tire set up. I have decided to keep the stock configuration to keep the extended warrenty in effect as I may be selling the bike..
I have the following parts:
07 Nighttrain wheel and tire with 14 miles
07 NT Badlander seat.
07 NT Splash Guard
07 NT NT Tail light and plate bracket
07 NT fender struts
07 NT belt guard
07 NT Rear fender with minimal damage . Straight but has a dent in the center of the rear tip on top. Will need some work and paint.
07 Softail Custom swing arm
06 softail 7/8 drive pulley.
I haven't gotten to the point where I have collected all the hardware to assemble this on the bike but figure most of the stock hardware would work.. I do not have narrow belt or axle and spacers either. If anyone is interested in buying all of these parts as a kit i will let them go for $800.00 plus shipping .. At this point I am not ready to sell the parts separately . All parts are in excellent condition except the fender.. Let me know if your interested. I'm located in Vermont. 05641. Thanks..!!

I have read a few threads about having to do transmission work to change to the wide tire do you know if this is true for a 2003 softail standard? I am really interested in these parts and I think you are near me as I saw the same ad on craigslist but do not want to have to do major tranny work.

I am not sure about the tranny work.. As I understand it the 06 Nighttrains with the 200mm tires had the same 5 speed transmission as the rest of the 00-06 Softails . When they went to the 6 speed in 07 they changed the rear belt pulley to a 66 tooth . The 06 Nightrains came with a 70 tooth narrow pulley which is the pulley I have for this set up which is still forsale..
Thanks

transmission work to get the 200mm to line up

Thing is to convert you will still need the bushings for the transmission. In the installation you will have to remove the tranny and install these parts. It is sold as a set which includes a spacer for the housing, longer bolts and a few other items (I forgot as it was several months ago I did the research.)
That kit was another couple hundred bucks and was not suggested that a shade tree motorcycle mechanic do the conversion. Something about the track of the rear wheel as opposed to the front and proper spacing (bushing) of the rear wheel. this might have been the thread you were talking about in HDForums.
That kit (the trans spacer and bolts) were not in production at the time when I evaluated this purchase and have since moved on (I plan my winter projects to be completed during the winter... lol)
Hope this helps,
Dutch
P.S. the attached pics were the ones he sent me back in the fall
