Half helmet, DOT approved, same one for the last 22 years. No helmet at all if the state I'm in allows it. Always a bandanna, helmet or not.

 

After years of nagging from the wife and mother in -law, I tossed the old fake beanie for an Akoury 88. Only DOT helmet I put on and didn't take off in .5 seconds.

 

I run an Icon FF. I've been known to do some fairly stupid chit on my bike. I'll take all the extra protection I can get. I have a family to go home to.

 

Same here. That Akoury 88 is awesome.

Ten years ago, I was "that guy", wearing no lid, shorts and a t-shirt. Now I'm wearing a DOT helmet, jeans and Wesco boots. I must be getting a little wiser in my old age. Nagging from the wife helps too.

Which looks ALOT like the Akoury AK-88...which is also from Canada .... hmmmmm... lol, the same outfit has GOT to be making them ... just gotta be. They both even have the same wicked cool quick release latch!

I have a few helmets too, but I use my AK-88 the most. I wear Wiley-X "ECHO" sunglasses with Transitions lenses.

I'm in Jersey too, JD. I drive the Turnpike, 80 and the Parkway regularly...mostly the Turnpike to work. I have no regrets or problems with the AK-88 and the WX glasses. I just wish Akoury would make a chrome version. I'd go for that in a second since my #2 helmet is a chrome novelty job. Having a legit, chrome AK-88 would be cool.

 

Helmets are like condoms, Better off just wearing one.

For a good half helmet check out outlaw helmets. They also have a remove able front brim that keeps the helmet from having that parachute effect you mentioned. I have both half and full depending on weather and day or night riding

I wear a retro looking 3/4 with a pull down visor. I went looking at helmets, tried various sizes on and when I found the right size, I went online and bought it cheaper.
