Default Heat Shield Rattle

Have a 2008 Heritage, and the front heat shield is loose and rattles. I cannot see anyway to tighten it.

It is not completely loose, but just enough to rattle.

This is not a big deal, but I don't like it.

Anybody have a suggestion.

Thanks,
Balloo

Look real hard for the hose clamps. They are put in places so you can't see them while viewing the bike. I'd recommend checking the torque on the flanges and snugging down the heat shields. If the clamps broke that's an easy swap but if the clamp mount is broke then your SOL. If all else fails might try wadding up foil, etc.

Thanks CajunIron -- found the clamps - - one was a bit loose. Also found that the heat shield was touching the muffler -- bent it out a bit.

Cheers,

I had a Sportster a few years ago and had the HD service dept install some V&H big radius. Two years later all except one of the mounts on the inside of the heat shield had snapped off. Not the clamps...the mounts. Called V&H and they said they would send me a new heat shield once they produced some more. I traded that bike in before that ever happened.

Yep.. the clamp is loose.. look under the shield and tighten it. its like a regular hose clamp.. two on each shield.
