hey all .. ive got a 2011 fatboy with what im told is can bus wiring system

I removed my bulb style front turn signals and replaced them with harleys led turn mirrors only ... only to find out my back ( still bulb ) lights blink .. but not the fronts

my question is ive been given conflicting stories...

ive been told by some that the computer just needs to relearn that there is led's up front

and the other story is i need a load equalizer ...

which one is correct and how do i fix this problem ?

 

Also follow up from my research .. does it matter that the running lights up front arent hooked up ?

 

Sounds like you wired it wrong.

 

got the wiring diagram in front of me ... checked the left one with the right front bulb still hooked up ... worked fine ...

hooked up the 2nd led turn signal ... now i have nothing

 

would twisting the turn and run wires together help ?

 

Definitely do not do that. Where do the LED mirrors plug in at.

 

I clipped the 3 wires in the hand grip housing and hardwired em there ... black ground violet for turn ... shrink capped the blue running

 

seems like i need a resistor or equalizer .. but when i look for em .. alot of sites have this .. why would they not wanna sell their stuff

I have a 2011 Fatboy Lo with front/rear Led and Led Tail light and mine works fine without an Eq. Why did you hard wire them instead of following the instructions using the supplied harness?

 

i bought em 2nd hand from a guy on this site .. and they didnt come with it

might it be the resistance still .. the hd mirrors only have like 4 LED's

or maybe running light balance issue ? worked with 1 bulb and 1 led ???


any thoughts .. il check for a blown fuse .. but from what i understand .. theres only 3 fuses .. id figure there'd be alot more out
