Default add more power to pavement

I have 06 FLSTCi that I purchased (17K miles). It came with a Vance and Hines Long shot exhaust, and that is all I can tell done to it. I need some advice on tuners. Getting a lot of people saying power commander, screaming eagle, etc. I also looking at Andrews bolt-in cam. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Its all about how much you want to spend. My 88" with cams and a 2n1 runs good and keeps up with stage 1 96" and 103's. The stock 2014 103's that are now cammed, touring bikes, with 255's get away from me. I had it cammed with VH BSS's and when I installed the 2n1 the bike ran better. Straight pipes are not good for smaller builds.

Also, I tried the PCV and have a Dobeck DFO. The bike ran the same with either so I sold the PCV for what I paid for it and kept the Dobeck because I bought it cheap. With bolts in cams only, no need to spend a lot on a dyno or expensive tuner imo. The bike just needs a little more fuel.

Anything more then a cam, 95-98" kits and headwork, then lots of choices that can cost a lot more if youre willing to spend more.

I'm a fan of the Power Vision. Check out FuelMoto. They sell a number of tuners including the PV. You end up paying the retail price, but with the extended warranty and support, it is well worth buying through them.

I got the FP3 for a tuner mostly because I liked the easy iPhone flashing and data monitoring. Seems to be doing good so far!

I recently installed Andrews 21's on my 02. Tuned the bike with the Power Vision. I've tuned bikes with many different tuners available on the market but favor the Power Vision over the other devices I've had my hands on.

Last month I changed my gear ratio from stock 3.16 to 3.37 by changing the Compensator and Clutch sprockets. Easy modification which also allows the use of stock primary chain and tensioner. The gear ratio change makes a noticeable difference in acceleration.

21's create more compression, which equates to tq, then 26's, albiet they top out earlier by a few hundred rpm. I ride mostly 2k-4k rpms which is where the 21's put the power. A friend had a 95" bagger and tried both the 21 and 26. He preferred the 21's and I ride 2up 50%. And Joe Minton with American Rider Magazine wrote an article about 95" and 21's.

http://www.ridermagazine.com/uncateg...onversion.htm/

I also think you would be fine with 26's. If you go 95" and mill the heads a bit, go 26's or 204's. That being said, if I go 95", I will leave the 21's in, but may consider a -4* key depending on the final ccp.

Lastly, no cam with a 2n1 in an 88" will rip your hands off the bars. haha The bike just runs better and stronger. The cam by itself with VH BSS did not do much. The 2n1 really helped wake things up.

The andrews 21 helped alot it was well worth it this year I added a 95inch kit and ported heads to the setup and notice know one can catch me... There great from 0-70 and the bike loves 5th gear. I raced a few bikes with way hotter cams and I came out ahead the guys who call them baby cams are the most fun because they just like real fools afterwards.. Maybe there is better cams out there but from 0-70 good luck because they bark hard ripping up to 70
