Default 2005 Softail Standard Turns off when I turn my bars.

I'm glad I think I solved the problem. I turn my bars to the right and the bike dies. I touched the wires leaving the bars headed to the tank and the bike died. I leave the bike untouched and it runs.

So I see two wires (two sleeves actually which I assume have several wires in them) headed to the right on the bars. Am I correct in assuming one is just the turn signal and the other is the Run and start switch?

Should I try to just see if the sleeve has worn and the wire is grounding, and just electrical tape it, or replace the entire set?

Obviously if the sleeve is not worn then the wire has an interal break and I may as well just buy a new set.

If it's just a grounding issue, electrical tape is a lot cheaper than replacement.
