Default Converting N. Train to springer front end

Hello all, I am interested in converting my 03 Night Train to a springer front end. Its not something thats going to happen tomorrow, but I would like to start to gather info now. Any and all info is welcome. I THINK I already know this much. I will need a different front brake set up, risers, and my fender will not simply bolt on to the springer. Thanks in advance for the advice.

You will also need new handlebars. The springer risers are wider so the bar must be for springer.(If you use a HD springer front end)

New front wheel or at least replace the bearings for the 3/4" axle.

What brand springer are you looking at? Make sure you get a quality one if going aftermarket.

Here is what an 06 Train with an HD springer looks like. It was a pretty straight forward swap. I used an Arlen Ness top plate so I could use thestandard 3 1/2 center risers . E-mail me if I can help you out with any info.

budzilla, nice, very nice indeed. Ballpark figure to do the conversion?

Tx_Outlaw I am assuming that THIS springer is not what you would call a quality front end? I am new to the game of HD, but know I want a springer. Can you recommend an aftermarket that is not going to break the piggy bank?

ChopperHammer666, much appreciated!!!

I'm about to put a springer front end from a '98 BadBoy on my '02 Std. I didn't know about the Ness top plate, that'll save me from buying new bars! Thanx Budzilla

Closest I can figure it was around $3000.00 for all HD parts . It can be done for a lot less using a Paughco replica with a shock.

I think a good idea on a nightrain would to buy a persons front end that changes thier springer to a chrome front end from lets say black. Maybe a dealer take off..or a personal sale. Unless you like the chrome front end on a nightrain.

Personally, I'd only use a known name springer builder, but that's just me. Look for beefyrear tubes. Bearings in the rockers are a plus also.
