Default 250 rear on a 2008 FLSTC softail heritage anni

Just picked up a 2008 FLSTC with 7000 miles. I have a Roadking, Ducati, and a couple of victories.
Love the wider tire on a softail. How big a project is this?

250 tire you will need a new swingarm, space out the front belt pulley, new struts and fender, as well as new wheel and tire obviously. I think Heartland makes a kit. Hope you have a big wallet.

i wanted a 250 too, but the heartland kit seemed to pricey to me... i thought i could get more for my bike by spending it on other stuff. maybe down the road, but not now.

heres the heartland one...

For me a Heritage should live up to it's "heritage" It is your bike and surely your choice to modify as you want. For me it goes against the soul of the bike. Kinda like putting apes on a Roadking Classic. Oh Oh, now I did it.

Default old thread i know

just digging around before I asked the question myself. it's something I'm interested in 'cause I like the wide tire look, and I have the tire/wheel already.

the thing I'm wondering is keeping the look of the dual exhaust on each side of the wheel. just eyeballing it the new setup won't fit between them as is (though I'd love to find out I'm wrong about it). has anyone seen this done and or know how to keep the exhaust on each side? thanks.
