Did 107 on my slim and I don't see the need to do it again.
Jimbojo- the motors are perfectly capable of doing the speed, but Harley's are not the most aerodynamic of vehicles. Some are pretty similar to throwing a brick into some wind, lol!
Been there done that.......then you just want to go faster. I have a pretty good build done on mine and I have yet to air it out. I HIGHLY recommend that if you are going to do it, do it where it is safe and or sanctioned to do like an event, a track or open road where nothing can come at you form the side.
I did it once with my 2006 Heritage Classic on I 20 between Odessa and Monahans. Took it to a buck fifteen and eased back to the speed limit. That was the one and only time I busted 100 on either bike.
I do too, but I don't think I'd do it on a Harley. For me, I'd do it on a sport touring bike and one I'm familiar with. To answer your question, it would be self-satisfying to say I did it.
The bones will handle it.
I end up doing a lot of hwy miles even though i try to stay off them.
When your already doing 85(speed limit) it's not far to a 100.
