Default Burly, or Harley? Ape kit help

Hey guys,

What are your experiences with the Burly Ape hanger wire and cable kits, and the Harley ones....

I just want something as hassle free as possible for 16" bars, and obviosly do NOT want binding, or even worse.... way too much slack.

THANKS!!

I have Burly Bars/Wire/Cable Kit. I'd have to say it's a high quality kit. Directions leave a bit to be desired. One tip, if your stick wires that you pull ut of your controls are long enough, tape the ends together and send them through the bars, then solder/pinch on your extensions. That would have saved me some serious time.

You pulled them through with no tape??? ouch... lol

Did the cables seem to run a bit big? I've heard complaints that the Burly kits usually run big...

Thanks for the feedback!

I bought the 14" Burly kit for the J&P 14" apes and it's a perfect fit. Actually the throttle cables could've been an inch longer so I could run them down the middle of the forks without them binding. I still can run them that way, I'd just like them a slight bit more slack on turns etc.

No, I had already put on the wire extensions which makes a bit of a bulge and are difficult to pull through, I still taped then ends and did the string/nut trick. I def had extra wire and probably a couple inches of extra clutch/throttle cables. Brake seemed to be dead on.
