Default Black Pipes for Night Train

Hi y'all, just got my 07 FXSTB today...love it! Has anyone out there found black pipes or a company to ceramic or powder coat them black?

D&D Performance makes pipesin ceramic black, it costs about $50 extra. Their 2 into 1 systems are supposed to pretty good for performance as well.

If your just looking to have the pipes done check with Jet Hot. They have an excellent, and well deserved reputaion for quality work at a reasonable price.
I was quoted $90 to do my pipes inside and out.
I didn't ask about the mufflers, because I was not interested in that.
Besides I'm fairly sure they couldn't do much with them anyway becausethey don't come apart.
At least not very easily.

BTW Welcome to the nut house.

Jet-Hot will do them and all the headers I have had them do in the ceramic silver for cars have all been done very well.

I had the hooker troublemakers in chrome (I bought them before they started offering them in black) and I just took them to my local powdercoater and had them coated in hi-temp powder. See my photo album for pics...

I've also got a 2007 FXSTB and have been lusting for black pipes. The Hooker Rebel Darksides are exactly the look I want. But I'm debating waiting to see if they make a 2007 version compatible with the O2 sensors, or just getting the '06 version and going with sensor eliminators.

I'm not wild about the Thunderheader two-into-one look, and the D&Ds are too long.

I've thought about the jet-hot coating as well. But I've got a question on that. If you have another pipe, like V&H short shots or something, are you just getting the heat-shields coated? Or do you discard the shields and coat the pipe itself, and then just ride without the shields?

Thanks,

Scott

I have full coverage heat shields on my Pythons (same as V&H pipes) therefore I was able to powdercoat them instead of ceramic coat them. I got them powdercoated at http://www.powdercoater.com/. V&H pipes will not look right if you remove the heat shields .... the heat shields provide the beefy look for the pipes. You should also check out the joker machinepipes in black.
