Default Soft leather

Hey just wondering if anyone hade any tip on getting leather to soften up.I just bought a new windshield bag at it is a pain in the a#% to close. The leather is real stiff.

As long as its actually leather, and not some man made material,Saddlesoap will help, as will Neatsfoot oil. Apply either one generously and rub it in vigorously. Wipe any excess and work the leather in your hands to soften. The more you work it, the softer it will get. Just like a ball glove, it takes time to get it right

You can use shaving cream and a warm over about 350 degrees for about 2 minutes. Works great for baseball mitts.

I do some leather work and I use saddlesoap and neats foot oil just like the others have posted. I would avoid the shaving cream as most of it contains alcohol which will dry the leather out and possibly crack it. Stick to oils. If you go to a good leather hobby store such as Tandys you can find a liquid saddle soap that works great...spray it on...let it sit and wipe off excess.
