Batwing on a Heritage
#11
I'm currently riding with 19" windshield and no fangs. About half my riding is 70-80 mph. 3/4 helmet. Pretty comfy. The only problem is it is real easy to accidentally ease up to 85-90 mph.
I have the fangs, but currently they are off the bike as they need a little grinding to clear my tank (which has a 1.5" lift). There is a noticeable difference in amount of air on upper thighs and body when using the fangs. Coldest ride last winter was 35F with fangs and boots, jeans, and chaps. The front of the upper legs got cold enough that I wished I'd added thermals.

Not for me. I put on the HD wind deflectors and the buffeting decreased by probably 90%. Then I got a good deal on a Reckless batwing cuz I just had to have one
The wind deflectors work better IMO. The biggest difference I noticed is I don't get the blast of air when I put my feet on the crash bar highway pegs with the batwing on. I do like the batwing but not sure if I'm going to keep it and get it painted to match the bike. Like I said, I got a good deal on it and always to try one. Not sure it belongs on a Heritage though.

If you decide to get a fairing for your Harley look at these from Reckless. I was very happy with mine.Shipped fast and answered all my questions. Loved having a good radio on my bike.

I have lowers that I use in the winter but I don't use them above 60 degrees.
They certainly do restrict the air flow to the legs, but that also means they restrict air flow to the engine.
If I'm not mistaken the instructions state not to use them above 50 degrees due limitation of air flow needed for engine cooling.
The bike does run hotter with the lowers on so you might not want to go that route.
