Default Tri-bar LED Tail light question

For those of you running a tri-bar LED tail light, I installed one over the weekend and a side mount lisence plate braket. I left the plate holder off the light, but there is a "duckbill' where the plate mounted to the light. Did any of you trim that off, and if you did, where did you cut it to make it look good? Pics would help, if you could please.
Thanks
Bear

The plastic tabs are prone to breaking on and light rattling around. Mine just did last week. I would suggest a small rubber washer either inside the mounting tab or on the outside of tab. This may help with some of the vibration. I had to completely disassemble light and resolder one of the pieces inside. Still trying to come up with another way to mount the light, tabs are broken off.

I have a tri-bar on the back of my 06 Train. It went out yesterday and may be dead. Did you get yours at a HD dealer?
