Default my head is going to explode

Well...I got my pipes installed last night (minus o2 sensors). Figured I won't be able to ride until that's resolved so started looking into tuners.

I read up on several posts on here and realized that doing the stage one at the dealer would be pointless...money down the drain. That is when my head started to hurt...

Fuelpak 3, superchips (man the price is right, but no 2014 maps yet doesn't help me much), etc, etc...

Started reading over at the tuner forum here and read up on some of the features of the Power Vision. looked into a couple of places and picked it up at amazon for about $420.

I figure I may as well install my air cleaner, wait for the tuner and o2 bung adapters...install them, tune the bike and call it a day.

I gotta take the bike in for the 1000 mile service soon...should I set the tune back to stock before I take it in?

Again...there is such a wealth of information on this site that it is hard to grasp so much. a little bit of information overload if your not careful

There's really no need to.
Besides, the bike will probably run like chit with the stock tune after the upgrades...

Dealers like to try and scare people by saying any mods "may" void your warranty, but the truth is they would have to prove those mods caused issues...

that's what I was thinking...I figure the 1000 mile service is fluids, adjust cables and such...etc...nothing too technical I figure. I just looked at the checklist and don't see anything there that would cause these guys to hook it up to anything so I'll just let it ride.

1st thing that I thought of as I read your thread was that you are going to take your bike in for its 1K service and then when they see your additions, upgrades, they are going to inform you that you no longer have a warranty!!!

I've been down that road before with cars...as far as I know...the only things that can't be warrantied would be the parts replaced. I'm hoping they don't give me a hard time because I actually like the guys at the dealership.

It's your call but if it was me I wouldn't chance it, I've lost confidence in my dealer and don't trust what bs they might come up with. I only had stage 1 and xieds but I took em off before a scheduled service a while back. Now I stay away from the dealer thanks to this forum and getting some good indy names. Good luck man.

If you think the dealer will give you a hard time because you have mods done to the exhaust and engine, then find a new dealer! Simple as that.

Why don't you do your own 1,000 mile service.

My dealer here in NCal is pretty good. I just had changed my mufflers to VH HS slips and they still did my 1K nothing said. Pretty sweet...then again they are family owned and have been for 40 years...

As I just went down this road, if you are going VH across the board like I did, go FP3...simple, straight forward if you are going with a simple tune. Otherwise, from what I have seen, if you are a tweeker that tweeks often, then go something other than FP3.

That said, FP3 worked for me, worked well.
