I had my ECM fuse blow three times while I was riding and the fuel pump shut down. When I replaced the fuse the pump would prime again and the bike would start as normal. The third time I replaced the 15 amp fuse with a 25 amp so I could make it home. The fuel pump shut down again when I hit a bump and this time the fuse was not blown but was the same symptom. I have all of the accurate fuses in place but the fuel pump will not prime. It was suggested to start by looking at the battery terminals and they are tight.
Had a similar problem on my sportster. I don't know if it's the same on the twin cams, so take this with a grain of salt; but i'd check & replace your relays before you look into starter/fuel pump. Relays are like 8 bucks a piece.
Have you done any mods to your console/speedo lately? If you twisted the sender connector under the speedo, it can short and pop the fuse and kill the fuel pump. I found that out the hard way.
I have an speedo/tach combo. The only thing I had to do with that recently was take the connector out and put it back in to get the Thundermax signal flowing to it. Nothing looks pinched under there.
