I think a Deluxe is one of the best platforms to start out on in a bike even with the slightest of mods to it. I know I will catch flack for that comment but it stands true for me. Now, we are all not the same taking that into consideration too. I have had many, many bikes over the years and this is my favorite. My last bike was a Heritage Classic, nice bike but it just wasn't for me.

The deal you get and how good it is depends on the price. 13,000 miles is not that many miles on todays Harleys. I will tell you this though, it is a "buyers" market, it has been for the past 4 or 5 years so patience is the key. I am willing to bet, not knowing what they are asking, that you can probably get a better deal off of a private owner. I am not trying to discourage you, I am only giving you food for thought.

Mods, if you have any in mind, depends on what you would want. You can go for performance, looks or comfort. For me performance has always been my #1 priority. I am fortunate that I am finally at a place in life where I have been able to throw money at this bike and address all of those together and in a short period of time. I will attach a few pictures of mine for food for thought as well. They are not the best pictures but they are all I have right now. Good luck and let us know how it goes for you.

Just for reference I got my 2013 brand new towards the end of last summer for 15k. I would bet you could get a better deal that that.

I am SURE you can get a better deal than that! It might not happen overnight but there is a better deal out there waiting for you to find, and thanks.

Absolutely love my deluxe. Wife hated the rear seat so we got the wider one. Also it seems to fit the vertically challenged a little better than the tall folks. Other than that my favorite bike harley makes hands down. I would dump those seats though.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Deluxe. I rode every model I could before making up my mind and I always went back to the Deluxe. I got my 2013 in March 2013 for $16K. I think you could get a pretty good deal if you offer.

The Heritage also comes with what I think is the most comfortable handlebar you can get on a Harley. If I would ever trade to a Deluxe, it would get what you listed, but the bars would be replaced with the Heritage mini apes.

+1. Just so you aware though, I was able to swap deluxe bars and risers for heritage bars and risers without changing anything else. They can be had used for fairly cheap.

I am guessing those bars are not what came on it from the factory. Are those ape bars?
