Default HID question

So im thinking of brighter lights for my 04 heritage but am a little confused, are the Hid kits for later models only??? Its been a while since i pulled my headlight but im pretty sure its a sealed beam I dont think I can remove just the bulb. Do i need to get a new assembly before I can upgrade to HIDs ???? Or is there another brighter sealed beam I could put in ?? And im also wondering what my options would be for the passing lights I think they are sealed beams too . thx cw

According to the Harley oem parts finder, your headlight is a bulb inside while the passing lamps are sealed beam. You should be able to get a drop in h4 kit for the headlight. Just be sure it is a motorcycle kit so the ballast is very small. That way you should be able to get all of it inside the headlight housing.

not sure what the harley oem parts finder is but i can tell you what i have is a sealed beam so having said that what would my options be , cant believe no one else has run into this problem unless the previous owner of my bike put a sealed beam in .

I also got their regular led aux. lamps so they look like stock bulbs. I didn't care for the looks of the brighter aux. lights. When you get hids make sure you adjust them.

What about trucklite? They would replace the whole sealed unit.
