my buddy is complaining of a sore elbow from riding his softail. He has the beach bars. Could this be his problem? Anyone else experienced this phenom and, if so, what did you do to fix the problem...and stopping riding is not the answer!

Could be. Any repetitive motion could cause pain....he really needs to quit playing tennis while on the bike though...

He doesn't play any sport. He just rides everyday possible. Guess you can do that in Southern California....certainly not here in the Midwest. He is in his mid 60s but is in good shape. I suggested he might want to look at some pull back-type handle bars similar to those on a touring bike. He will never give up his softail!

microdot has nerve damage in his arm, so he kind of goes through the same thing when he rides. he just found a really nice pair of grips to ease the vibration. he said it made all the difference.

try masturbating with the other hand. some kind of throttle assist/cruise control will help too.

Just last evening, somewhere in the HD accessories catalog, I found a discussion on handlebars in which HD itself says that "beachbars" are intended for use by very TALL riders, or riders with long arms, as a solution to their otherwise feeling cramped. HD warns that it might not be suitable for other riders.

Unfortunately, HD never communicated this well outside of the catalog, so many riders buy them as a "styling" thing, and Victory even made a beachbar standard equipment on their "Boardwalk" model!

Had similar problem, worked with a physiotherapist until it was gone.he may have to lay low off the bike for a bit, I did it over the winter, and it did not come back since then.
