I know all about that.

Check out my Vette. Cutouts open and Cutouts closed. Guess which has more HP.

Truth is, a dyno proven 6 rwhp difference. So nothing.

But it does sound better which registers on the butt dyno.

FYI, will try QQ's next season to compare. Super cheap swap.........129 bucks and 2 screws! Thinking about givin the neighbors a break. Also, now at 70+mph with a strong wind, I can still hear my pipes, now that's LOUD!

I ended up going with cheap (like $8) generic baffles you can get on ebay all day. Just drilled a hole in my straight pipes and mounted them up. Piece of cake.

They took the bark out of the pipes and sound great, and, it cured the tune issue, I no longer need a tuner to make the bike run well.

Best $16 I've spent on that bike.

Here's the sound now. I also put on a fuel injection idle controller, here's the vid where you can hear how the bike sounds with the baffles.

Fuel injected Harley Manual Idle Speed Control - YouTube

Very cool fuel injection idle controller!! That's a B motor, right? Any concerns with low oil pressure at idle?

What's it called?, where to get? Aprx cost? easy install? any down side in reliability or performance ?

Thax,
To keep this thread on topic, here's my review thread on the idle controller:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ignit...d-harleys.html

I keep my idle at 950 or so, and I never have any trouble, oil light never comes on and that's within OE spec (and is where my buddy's carb'd 03 heritage idles). I really like the mod, 950 sounds a ton better than 1100 for sure.

It's around $100, IIRC, link to purchase in my thread above.
