I bought the HD oil temp dipstick from a member here about a year ago. It worked great for a while but now has a No Sensor message that comes up when I go to check it. It still shows the oil temp but flashes the error message. I looked it up in the directions and it says it means a loose wire but I couldn't find one when I took it apart. Does anyone know of a fix or am I looking at getting a new one?

 

I am assuming you are talking about the digital oil temp/level gauge or am I misunderstanding you? I can not give you a 100% guarantee of an answer but I can relay to you what was told to me back when I got mine. I was told no matter what goes wrong with it, if in fact it is the digital one that we are talking about or what the dispaly says or reads out to change the battery.

If that is of no help to you I would then call to the Dealership, the manufacturer of the dipstick itself or good Old Google it and go from there.

 

It's the digital one. So I'll try a new battery and see what happens. Try the simplest thing first right?
