Traded My Slim

Traded My Slim
Did something I didn't think I would do, I traded my Slim. Nothing wrong with the Slim, I loved most everything about it. Problem was riding 2-up. I had a Sundowner Seat and footboards for a passenger, but that wasn't enough. We needed some way to carry a couple changes of clothes, sissy bar, luggage rack, etc...
The wife was riding a lot more than I anticipated when I bought the Slim. Had I known she was to be a constant companion, I would have bought something more better for 2 riders.
I was 100% happy with the Softail platform. That brings us to the bike I traded for. A vivid black, 2013 Heritage with 1500 miles on the meter. I bought the Slim last June 11th and put 6000 miles on it.The Heritage is proving to be a great ride. It handles good and feels right 2-up. I hope I'm able to put that many miles on this bike over the next 9 months !
I haven't made any changes, yet. Got to do something about the sound. It needs to be a little louder. I'm gonna do something to preserve the shape of the saddle bags too. I know there are a couple of kits one can buy to take care of the bags. Maybe a luggage rack behind the sissy bar, also. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the looks of the Heritage.
Any and all comments/suggestions about exhaust, air cleaners, etc... are welcome.

I love my Heritage. A couple of mods I would recommend. The Got Saggy Bags system to keep the shape of the bags. This is easier to do when the bags are new and still relatively in the correct shape. Also Get the quick release system for the bags from HD. It really makes pulling the bags off SO much easier. And you will want them off to keep those wire wheels clean. If you get white walls, access to that rear wheel for cleaning is a requirement. Now get us some pictures of this new bike.

Sorry you had to trade in your slim but the heritage is a sweet two up tourer even though it's a softail. It is a must you find a better passenger seat for the wife. The stock seat is super uncomfortable. I have a saddlemen with airhawks for my wife and I and it works really well. You also might want to have the suspension firmed up in the rear.
