I have a Combination Analog Speedometer/Tachometer-70900171A

When I start to ride after a couple minutes a red indictor light comes on and does not shut off. The bike runs great and I can see no issues. Problem is I do not even know what the light means or if its normal.

The manual that came with the speedometer does not provide me with the meaning of these indicator lights. Below is a picture of the light.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

 

On mine it's used for the security indicator, but it will also come on as sort of "check engine" warning, to say you threw a code... may want to have it checked out at a dealer...

Mine did that after I installed LED turn signals. It means that a code is stored (or at least that's what I was told). If you have security and ABS, it's also tied into those systems.

 

My stock speedometer red light use to stay on when I was riding and flash when it was sitting but it was my security system. It stated acting normal when I had a siren installed.

 

Mine also would stay on after I installed the rear led lights

 

The red light come on cuz you have a short somewhere head light might be going out or your signal lights make sure they're all on and blinking brake light things like that happen to me my head light connector got lose from hitting a bump the red light came on

 

..might just need a load equalizer...

 

So is it anything to worry about? I just installed led lights on the turn signals, headlight and break lights.
