It is odd when folks gender their bikes, cars, trucks or the like I always thought?

Not odd to a German at all

. In German everthing more specific than just 'car' or 'motorcycle' is gendered. In this respect all cars are referred to as being male when naming the brand (Mercedes, Porsche, Ford etc.) and motorcycles are referred to as being female (Harley, Kawasaki, etc.). There are only very few exceptions.

And...take a close look...it's more than obvious it's a SHE
