Default Good news - Mustang seat in works for Breakout

I asked Mustang last year if they were going to be doing a seat for the BO and they said no. I figured it doesn't hurt to ask now that more time has passed and got this response:

Mustang does have plans to make a seat for the Breakout this year. Sorry at this time no ETA is known. I will save your email address and when more information is known about the seat I will contact you.

So hopefully we will have yet another option for the BO soon guys!

Looks like they finally are offering a seat, though it's not a solo seat like I was hoping. Here's their Tripper Fastback for the Breakout: http://www.mustangseats.com/Product/...ipper-Fastback

And, did they contact you as they had promised or did you have to find out by yourself???

To me the seat looks quite the same as the stock set-up as far as shape and padding are concerned but leaving you without the option of removing the passenger pillion. Not quite sure if I would consider it a great improvement over stock...just my .02.

They didn't contact me... I just happened to go check again and saw it. And I agree, I am not all that impressed with the design. I had hoped for a nice vintage solo style seat with the option of adding/removing a cushier passenger pillion. Maybe that will follow, who knows...

Just sent my request/question to them through their online contact form on the website. Hopefully there will be an option soon.

I looked into something similar for the La Pera Maverick Diamond and had this response sent to me a day or two later:

"Thank you for your interest in our seats. We are currently working on seats
for the Breakout. We should have the seats available in about 6-8 weeks. We
will keep your contact information and let you know when they are available.
Since this will be a brand new seat, our dealers will likely not have them
for a little while. We do offer a program called our Foam & Base Program
where we can send you the seat uncovered to test out on the bike before
committing to the custom cover. We charge a deposit (Maverick usually $461)
plus shipping to send it out.
Please let us know if you have any further questions."

It'll be nice when companies start catching up and offering us some options.... All in due time I guess.

Typical B.S. I asked the same question 6 weeks ago and they told me the same thing (6-8 weeks). When I called back 6 weeks later, they told me 6-12 weeks. Don't hold your breath. They're coming, but who knows when.
