Last October I had Kendall Johnson Customs build me a S&S 124" and I love it. It's an evo not a TC but I can tell you S&S makes super quality engines. I had nothing wrong with my stock 80cubic inch motor other than I had trouble keeping up with all the newer Twin Cams out there. Now forgetaboutit! I pull on just about everything out there on the highway. I vote S&S all the way...

Yes. I do have a busa and my nighttrain is a bike I will never sale. If I was worried about recovering money I wouldnt have modified anything.

I weigh a musclebound 300lbs and refuse to put a windshield on this bike. When riding into the oklahoma wind you can imagine how much my bike is working to push through at 80 to 100mph. I have 50mph wind gusts at my house right now. Point of this is so I can ride 100mph whenever I want. And so it doesnt feel like a slug. My daily driver car makes 750rwhp on 91oct and the busa prob makes close to 200. That ought to give enough of an idea about why I think my softail is a slug.

Hate to tell you this, but your softail is still going to feel like a slug compared to the busa and maybe even that car. Be kind of like my slug 883 compared to my 1200 and Glide with the S&S. But at least it'll haul your 300 lbs past 100 easy enough, my 96" S&S would do that. You'll be buying a lot of tires and belts if you keep doing wide open most of the time with one of those bigger engines.

Haha I always thought boss hoss was a neat bike but definitely not for me. I dont expect my softail to ever be "fast" but I will be happy as a pig in **** if I never have to worry about my bike keeping up with the pack. my fuel mileage is horrendous on a windy day too

Get a 124" and be done with it.
